Kairos Beta Terms
Effective date: [DRAFT — set on approval]
These terms cover the free Kairos beta from Selah Systems LLC ("Selah", "we"). By downloading, installing or switching on Kairos with a beta code, you agree to them on behalf of yourself and your firm. If you don't agree, don't download or use the beta.
What the beta is
- Kairos is free to use under these terms through January 31, 2027; a firm that starts between January 18 and February 1, 2027 still gets 14 days. From February 2, 2027, a new signup gets a smaller trial instead, with a set number of returns. Your code email and Kairos's first screen show your own end date. After it, Kairos pauses until your firm chooses a paid plan.
- One beta per firm. The code we email you is for your firm's own use.
- We may change, limit, pause or end free access at any time, including to protect the service from misuse. When the beta ends or pauses, everything Kairos already entered stays in your returns.
- The beta is software in active development. It is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
You review every return
Kairos enters data into your firm's own tax software for your review. You and your firm remain responsible for every return you prepare, review, sign or file, including checking each value Kairos entered. Kairos does not give tax, legal or accounting advice.
What you may not do
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise try to extract the source code, models, prompts or data maps in Kairos, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction.
- Copy, sell, rent, redistribute or publish Kairos or any part of it.
- Share, sell or publish your activation code or license, or use another firm's.
- Get around any limit, license check or security measure in Kairos or our service, or sign up more than once for the same firm.
- Use Kairos to build a competing product, or to benchmark it for publication without our written permission.
Your clients' data
Kairos runs on your computer and types into your own return. To read a document during the beta, Kairos sends it through Selah's server in the United States, which stores and logs nothing of its content, to our AI provider, Anthropic, for processing inside the United States. Under Anthropic's Commercial Terms of Service, Anthropic may not train models on that content, and it is processed under Anthropic's Data Processing Addendum, which those terms incorporate. You are responsible for having whatever client consent your professional rules require (including under IRC §7216) before you process a client's documents. See our privacy policy and how Kairos handles client data.
Your contact details
We use the email address and any other details you give us to switch Kairos on, send you your code, and tell you about your beta (for example, when it is about to end). If you ticked the box for tips and updates, we will also send those, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
Limit of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Selah is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data, arising from the beta, and our total liability for the beta is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).
Ending the beta
You can stop using Kairos and uninstall it at any time. We may end your access if you break these terms. The sections on what you may not do, your clients' data, and limit of liability continue after the beta ends.
