When CPAs ask us about AI, this is usually the first question, and it should be. Your clients trusted you with their W-2s, 1099s and K-1s. They didn't agree to become training data for someone's model.
So here is the plain answer. Client documents processed by Kairos are never used to train any AI model, ours or anyone else's. They're used to read the values and enter them into your tax software. That's it.
How we hold to that
Documents travel over encrypted connections. The AI provider that reads them, Anthropic, may not train on your data under its Commercial Terms, processes it under a data processing agreement, and keeps it only for a limited period. Selah Systems doesn't keep a central copy of your clients' data.

Questions to ask any vendor
Whether you use Kairos or not, these are fair questions for any software that touches client documents. Is my data used for training? Where is it processed? How long is it kept? Who has a copy? If a vendor can't answer in plain language, that's an answer too.
